HOW TO APPEAR SOCIAL TO YOUR CO-WORKERS?

We are living in a weird era where there is not much human connection.

That being said, it is often good to still have some sort of communication with your colleagues whether you like it or not.

It helps to get updated on all the things happening in the company and people's lives. You will feel more included.

Some people say that they are INTROVERTS (like me) or SHY to strike up a conversation with their colleagues as they do not know what to say.

If you are one of these folks don't worry.

A lot of people are nervous about starting a conversation with their coworkers for various reasons, which I don't want to get into. They overthink it.

They think that “oh my god, what am I going to talk about?”

“How do I be appear more social.”

So here are some ways you could come out of that shell and strike up a conversation with your coworkers,

The simplest thing you can do is ask them, “Hey, how are you doing?” And then people respond to you, right? And again, it's really easy to do that.

And a couple of other ways you can have an engaging conversation with your coworkers is ask them about how their family is doing. Ask them what fun things they're doing this weekend? Or are they doing something where you can help out ask them, Hey, is there anything I could do to help you out?

Find some commonalities in terms of what the interest areas are if they like beer, sports, family, then start a conversation related to that, for example, I would say, hey, john, do check out the Boston Celtics score yesterday, man, wasn't it an awesome game. See, now you open up a conversation.

So it's really simple to strike up conversations and appear social when you're working with people. Stay inspired, folks.
