3 Tips to succeed in Hybrid/Remote Work Environments

Here are three ways you can succeed in hybrid or remote work environments.

  1. Set strict boundaries - So what do I mean by that? We live in this age of Slack, Facebook Messenger, Microsoft teams, and other collaboration tools, and people constantly ping you and you're expected to be online 24/7, and you set that preceding if you keep replying to people throughout the day. Instead, have strict boundaries in the sense, “okay, I'm going to reply to messages only from 8 to 6” and then the rest is family time. So you have to establish clear boundaries.

  2. Communicate your availability clearly - Say, for example, you work from 9 to 12, and then from 2 to 6 let your team members know so that they know what to expect from you or when to contact you. So communicating your availability is really, really important.

  3. Do time blocking - Block times during the day to work on the critical task, which you have to accomplish during the day because people are gonna constantly keep pinging you.

They'll constantly need help, but then you have your own tasks to finish. So my advice is to have two to three one-hour time blocks during the day where you focus on your tasks and then use the rest of the time to connect with people, attend meetings.

These are the three ways you can really be productive in a hybrid or a remote work environment.
